It’s a Funny T-Shirt Monday Morning

It’s Monday morning. The weekend’s gone. The hum drum of the regular work week is back. Hopefully everyone got a good work out this morning to start your week off right! No? Oh well, at least you can start it off with a few laughs! As they say, laughter is the best medicine.

Funny t-shirts are my passion. They really just make me feel good. They can be a great conversation starter. They make people you don’t even know smile. There’s something really fun about that! You know, the ability to connect with someone you don’t even know, to provide a smile for someone else’s day. I’m not into all the dirty, vulgar t-shirts out there that most sites are peddling. I think humor can be clean and still be very funny. T-Shirts don’t have to be dirty just to get a laugh. Some of the best clean but still very funny t-shirts I’ve found are at Very Funny T-Shirts.

They like to use animals, dinosaurs (I know they’re animals too, but I think they deserve their own mention), robots, pirates, political ideas, holidays and general word play in their t-shirts. They have some of the best funny sayings and slogans I’ve seen on t-shirts. Sometimes you have to think a bit to get some of their funny geek t-shirts, but that’s okay. If you’re not a geek, you’re probably not suppose to get them!

New Very Funny T-Shirt

I just found the funniest new shirt I’ve seen in the last week or two. Simply put, it shows a landscape scene with hills and clouds, and the silhouette of a not so large horse. The text on the shirt simply says, “Sorry, I’m a little horse.”

It’s time for Funny T-Shirts!

ey everyone. It’s getting pretty hot out there! At least here in Texas, the weather is beginning to remind me the rubber on my shoes will soon be melting to the pavement. What does that mean? It’s t-shirt time! Well, for me, it’s always t-shirt time, but now, even the sane ones of us start wearing t-shirts and tank tops all summer.

Too Big to Fail T-Shirt

The Too Big to Fail T-Shirt at Very Funny T-Shirts is proving quite popular in our current economic climate. We hear the larger sizes are definitely selling well! Go figure.

With companies like AIG, GM and Chrysler, along with almost every major or world bank looking for a hand out, it’s no wonder people are talking about companies being “too big to fail”. It really hits home, and reminds people that it’s us against them, the little guy versus the big players with billions of dollars. Our elected representatives aren’t really worried about We the People. They just want to make sure they please big corporations.

Well, at least it makes for a funny t-shirt. I could use a laugh right about now. I know this is a blog about funny t-shirts, but this really does bring up a good question. Should a company be too big to fail? Is anyone so important to our world economy that even when they run wreckless for years, waisting money, and taking horrible risks, that they must be bailed out when they are on the brink of disaster? It’s not a black and white question. Little guys like me and you are affected when a car manufacturer goes under. That’s true. But should that mean GM can be run into the ground because they know Uncle Sam will come around with a sack full of fiat currency and a golden parachute?

Sorry, but I just can’t believe that’s the case. We should know better as a country. Rewarding failure only begets more failure. That’s just my take. What do you think?

A Little Background Info – or – Let’s give the story some Texture!

Have you ever needed a great photographic background for some project you were working on? It’s nice to have a high-quality photo texture as a background for your web site or blog. It’s easy to find great textures and photos on high-end stock photography websites, but those aren’t free. I’m always looking for a good deal.

Recently, I ran across a really cool site that has hundreds of completely royalty free stock photo textures available for download, by anyone, for use in any project. Their only stipulation is that you’re not planning on selling or redistributing their photos, and that you’re not going to just host the photos for other people to download. That’s cool though. They take all of their own original photographs. Ever texture and background on freephototextures.com is original to the site.

So, the next time you have a school project, or an advertising brochure, a website or blog that needs spicing up, check out Free Photo Textures and I guarantee you’ll find something really cool that will get the job done. Their current list of texture photo categories includes brick, concrete, dirt, sand, fabric, glass, grunge, liquids, water, metals, paint, plants, plaster, plastic, rubber, rust, stone, rock, wood and a miscellaneous catch-all category for other cool backgrounds and textures.

Pirates Make for Funny T-Shirts

Have you noticed lately just how popular pirates seem to have become? Everywhere I look right now, I see pirates, on t-shirts, on posters, in advertising. They’re in the news seemingly weekly now! That part’s not good. But, the resurgence of all things pirate certainly makes for some good funny t-shirts lately.  Here’s one from threadless. It’s entitled 21st Century Pirate:

I see others all the time too. There are a couple of new Funny Pirate T-Shirts on VFT, including Pi Rat, a rat wearing a pirate’s hat with the Pi symbol on it in place of the Jolly Roger skull and bones symbol. He’s got hundreds of decimal places of Pi running across the background behind him. Then, there’s the new Captain Smiley the Pirate with his gruff looking pirate’s face, mean scowl, big, messy wooly beard, stringy dark hair, hoop earring, and typical tri-corner pirate hat. On the hat, in the place of the skull and crossbones, is a smiley face. These shirts are both quite funny. One’s more of just a pirate themed shirt. They other is a bit of a funny geek t-shirt, as most non-geeks probably won’t care that much about the symbol of an irrational number like Pi.

Ask me about dinosaurs… And other Funny Dinosaur T-Shirts

So, some of you may have realized by now that I really love dinosaurs. I think they simply make the easiest target for a funny t-shirt. A dino is the best fall guy around. I mean, they certainly can’t do anything to me… now can they? Plus, lots of them look funny, some of their arms are really short, they were thought to have tiny brains, and at least in our modern imagination, they come in all colors! Fun stuff.

One of my favorite funny dinosaur t-shirts around is a simple one from bustedtees that says “Ask me about dinosaurs.” It shows a dinosaur, wearing sunglasses of course, with a cool, retro 80’s type style look. You know, pink and green. There’s a fun, angled background set of lines and the words at the same angle. Anyway, I’m thinking about ordering it to add to my t-shirt collection.

Perhaps you never really thought about just how funny dinosaurs really are, but now you know. So, go ahead, stock up on funny dinosaur shirts and everyone will love you… seriously, EVERYONE.

Economic Effect on T-Shirts and T-Shirt Shops

The economy right now is not too funny. That’s for sure. Things look bleak, and they’re looking bleaker every day. I’m involved in lots of aspects of e-commerce, online shopping and sales, of t-shirts, and in other industries as well. It’s bad people. That’s about all I can say. Many companies are down 30% – 40% year over year, and e-commerce companies not well positioned for a blow like this may not last long.

Other companies, ones without debt, with efficiently run operations will weather the storm, if they can stand smaller profits for a couple of years. This may really weed out some of the low quality t-shirt selling competition out there, which (although bad for their livelihood), may be pretty good for you, the consumer. That being said, apparel is not necessarily the worst category to be in. People will always need clothes. And, when you’re selling some of the cheaper clothing and apparel items out there (like t-shirts), you’re positioned to at least keep selling something, even when the economic outlook is grim.

So, if you’re selling t-shirts, you may want to cut back on expensive advertising, get good deals (if you can) on bulk orders of your best selling shirts and use this time to learn to run your business as efficiently as possible. If you’re in debt as a business, now is the time to get out of debt. Forget making the big-time t-shirt bucks for now, and do what the rest of the nation is doing. Learn to be a bit frugal. Offer good deals to customers. But, don’t pay your customer just to sell a product. Don’t shoot yourself in the foot.

Everybody just sit back. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride. But, we’ll enjoy it more if we can see the humor in it all. We’ll be more comfortable if we simply keep wearing our funny t-shirts every day, keep smiling, learn to be smarter, and look forward to whatever the future holds.

Say It With a T-Shirt

Some of my favorite funny shirts are the ones that just have words on them. Often, I don’t really even want a big image on my shirt. I just want some simple words that make a statement, or make someone think or laugh. Occasionally, funny sayings on t-shirts will have me ROFL!

Some good ones I’ve seen recently on various sites around the web are, “Learning is for Loosers”, and “Everything’s made for righthanded people. That’s why it’s so hard being underhanded.” Sometimes, it just takes a few simple words in the right combination to make a piece of clothing funny. Yeah, those are some of my favorites.
